Frank Carey flew with 43 sqn at the outbreak of War. In April 1940 he was posted to France with 3 sqn it was here he scored the squadrons first success. By the end of the Battle of France he had downed nine German Aircraft. During the Battle Of Britain Carey flew Hurricanes he flew up to six combat missions a day. During the height of the Battle he was shot down and wounded. Posted to Burma in 1941 with 135 sqn and in 1942 he was transferred to 267 Hurricane wing. Frank Carey finished the War with 25 victories.
