Henrich Kraft was born on the 13th August 1914, assigned to I/ JG 51 in early 1940 he scored his first victory on the 21st of May 1940. Kraft was awarded the RitterKreuz in 1942 for his 46th victory. While flying over Russian held territory on the 4th of December 1942, Kraft's Messerschmitt was hit by Soviet AA fire, and forced to crash land. Highly decorated German Officers could expect brutal treatment from the Russian's and Kraft felt the full fury of this, he was beaten to death. Henrich Kraft was Kommandeur of I/JG 51 and had 78 victories to he name when he died. |
