Theodre Osterkamp was one of the oldest Luftwaffe Aces at the beginning of World War II. He was 48 when in 1940 he commanded JG 51. Osterkamp scored an impressive 32 kills during World War I. So in 1940 he was commanding fighter pilots half his age (the average age for a fighter pilot was 20 - 23). Osterkamp scored another six victories during World War II all between May and June 1940, he shot down two Hurricanes and a Blenheim in a single combat on the 22nd of May. Osterkamp scored six victory's during World War II. |
