WALTER SCHUCK

Walter Schuck made his name with JG/5 in the far Northern Fighter actions and joined JG/7 towards the end of the War. Schuck was a deadly fighter pilot with 198 kills against the Red Air Force. In the Luftwaffe's new jet the ME262 he would add another 8 victories to his name (including four,4 engine bombers). Schuck had difficulty confirming many of his victories in the ME262 because of the sheer high speed of the aircraft, which would often result in scattered wingman as they swept through bomber formations. Some sources say that Schuck could add another 30 kills to his tally because of this. Walter Schuck finished the War with 206 victories and the Oak Leaves to his Knights Cross.
